Painted Words

Painting shown "For a moment we were Icarus"

ARTIST STATEMENT

After traveling extensively and residing thirty years in Europe and and the Mid-East I returned to the United States and settled in San Francisco.  The past seven years have been spent teaching myself to paint with oil on canvas. One could say that I am a dream or trance painter. I turn off my thoughts and the creation flows through me.  My painting style is figurative-abstract in the manner of the Expressionists – bold in color  with thick layers of paint.  My creations express emotions, words, dreams, recollections, memories, joys and sorrows – life’s voyage.  I love to paint. Some say, I live to paint. It is my passion.  I have entitled my collection: Painted Words.
