It’s 1962 and Las Vegas is ablaze with stars – swingin’ ones that is. First names that didn’t need last ones, like Frank, Dean, Sammy, Tony and a young upstart named Bobby. Jonathan Poretz, who tours the country as Frank Sinatra in the long-running Vegas show, “The Rat Pack is Back”, is joined by members of The Tribute big band for a swingin' salute to that special time on the Vegas Strip, when a $5 spot would get you a table down front in any of the great hotel casino lounges to hear the greatest entertainers of any time. Backed by a live, 12-piece big band, Jonathan Poretz swings like it’s the Sixties, performing some of the best-loved classics from that era, including: Fly Me To The Moon, Mack The Knife, Beyond The Sea, I Left My Heart In San Francisco, Ain’t That A Kick In The Head, Luck Be A Lady, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, My Way, and many more. In addition to the music, Poretz weaves together the story of the Vegas strip with wonderful anecdotes about the songs he sings and the icons that brought them to life on the stages of the famous Vegas lounges. Comedian Mickey Joseph, who plays Joey Bishop in “The Rat Pack is Back,” kicks off the evening in hilarious fashion, offering an updated take on a time when comedy wasn’t a four-letter word.
