Tonight's concert is to celebrate a very important 20th century French composer, Olivier Messiaen's(1908-92) 100th birthday in December. We will feature his "Quartet for the End of Time" played by piano, violin, cello, and clarinet. This beautiful yet very powerful music was composed and world premiered while Messiaen was in P.O.W. camp. In addition the program includes Beethoven's Piano Trio, and Paul Juon's Clarinet Trio.
Marin Chamber Players Beni Shinohara Violinist, holding position of Assistant Principal Second Violin in San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Assistant Concertmaster in San Francisco Ballet Orchestra.
Judiyaba Cellist, playing regularly with SF Opera, SF Ballet Orchestra as well as being an active chamber music player. She is also a member of Sonoma State University Music Faculties.
Roy Zajac Clarinetist, Principal Clarinetist for Santa Rosa Symphony, he also plays with Napa Valley Symphony, Monterey Symphony, and Marin Symphony among other Bay Area orchestras.
Marilyn Thompson Pianist, an active chamber music player, a soloist, and a teacher, she plays with Navarro Trio and teaches at Sonoma State University where she also runs their chamber music program.
