SUMMER CAMP 2010
Join us for a fun-filled summer of theatre magic at the historic 142 Throckmorton Theatre! Marin Youth Performers’ summer camp offers an engaging and enriching theatrical experience for young performers of all backgrounds and abilities. Campers will be immersed in various aspects of theatre and performance, while also working on a production* to be performed at the end of the session for family and friends. Campers will spend part of their day in small age-based groups receiving training in music, movement, acting, and stage craft and the other part of their day rehearsing for the production (see below). Marin Youth Performers’ summer camp is led by teachers and artists who hold degrees in theatre arts and education.
2010 Summer Camp Enrollment Form
Session 1: June 21-July 9 (3 weeks)/ Grades 2-5
Session 1 campers will work on a production of Free to Be You and Me. Based on the award-winning album of songs, skits, and comedy, Free to Be explores the infinite possibilities of childhood. Life-enhancing themes are imaginatively blended with music and humor to expand young people’s personal horizons, while encouraging them to invent their own futures without limitation.
Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm
TUITION: $950.00
Session 2: July 12-July 23 (2 weeks)/ Grades 6-9
Session 2 campers will work on a Stephen Schwartz Review. Campers will explore the work of lyricist and composer, Stephen Schwartz. Working closely with the camp staff, campers will pick material they’d like to perform from Schwartz’s vast body of work, including material from such stage hits as Pippin, Children of Eden, and his most recent smash hit, Wicked.
