Planned Giving

A bequest in your will or living trust, a beneficiary designation for an insurance policy or annuity, or a gift of stock now will help to guarantee the future of Throckmorton Theatre and its wide-ranging charitable programs for years to come. This is called “planned giving”. It costs you NOTHING now but promises support for Throckmorton Theatre into the future.

By making a planned gift, you will automatically become a member of the exclusive 142 Society (named after our address at 142 Throckmorton Avenue), and become one of our key supporters.

142 Society members are invited to a dedicated performance once a year to meet other society members and Board Members, where they may contribute to the long-term planning process for the theatre.

Making a bequest to Throckmorton Theatre, or donating equities or making the theatre a beneficiary in your lifetime, entitles you or your estate to tax deductions to the full extent allowed by law.

Making a bequest can be as easy as:

  1. Choosing what to give

  2. Deciding what you would like your gift used for

  3. Adding a few required lines to your will

  4. Letting us know of your bequest so we can acknowledge it and include you in our 142 Society membership.

Planned giving may have particular benefits for estate planning and tax efficiencies. Donors should seek professional advice in this regard.

Our Development team can walk you through the process of planned giving, including making a bequest to Throckmorton Theatre, making a gift of stock in your lifetime, or including Throckmorton Theatre as a beneficiary of certain insurance policies and annuities.

For more information, or to let us know of your existing bequest or estate plan, please contact the Development Department by emailing Info@142ThrockmortonTheatre.org or calling (415) 383-9600.
